From 1982 through 1989 I was engaged as cartoonist and graphic artist for a range of companies, especially publishers. At this time I published under my other name, Rudolf or Rudi. The cartoons, illustrations and the Science Art were in terms of content and clients closely intertwined.

 

This work included a wide range from journal covers through iillustrations for advertising materials, instruction manuals, annual business reports, to regular cartoon series.

 

"Mic and Mac" was a monthly cartoon for Trends in Biochemical Sciences depicting the life of the lab scientist, Mac and his bacterial friend, Mic.

"By the Bio" was another monthly series for the The International Journal of Industrial Biotechnology, issued by a publishing arm of the University of Cardiff.
